A career guided by people

For more than 30 years, Manon Samuel has supported Quebec businesses in human resources. As an HR generalist, she works in labour relations, performance management, recruitment and compensation.

She began her career with major government organisations in sectors such as casino gaming and health. She then joined a multinational operating in around 30 countries, where she led HR activities for 20 companies in Canada and the United States, in both unionized and non-unionized environments, in French and English. Through these experiences, she learned to navigate realities that vary widely from one workplace to another. Her work was recognized: she was named HR Professional of the Year in 2022.

After a few years as a consultant, she joined Premium in Febuary 2024. She is part of the management committee and oversees HR activities for Premium Industrial Group, Premium Industrial Structures, Tundra and Pont Roulant XPress. She built the company's HR function from the ground up.

An approach built on trust

Manon works closely with both managers and employees. She first seeks to understand everyone's challenges, then makes recommendations that can be implemented on the ground. She also sets how Premium recruits employees, welcomes them, tracks their progress and equips their managers.

She is qualified to interpret psychometric assessment results (AtmanCo) and draws on her training in mental health, harassment prevention and emotional intelligence to support managers in their decisions.

She sums up her philosophy this way: “ What you can do is important, but who you are matters even more. You can always learn how to do something, but being requires deep introspection and personal growth. ”

Behind the scenes

Outside work, Manon likes to challenge herself physically. Strength training, running and outdoor activities are a regular part of her daily life. She's also passionate about cooking, which she enjoys as much as caring for the people around her.
