What warranties does Premium Industrial Group offer on its overhead crane products?

Normally, a warranty includes a general description and terms. But it also includes exclusions and conditions, of which there can be many. Here we present our warranties and how they work, as well as our complete exclusions and conditions.

1. Warranty on Premium overhead cranes and selected STAHL components
   • 12 months for parts and labor
   • 24 months for motors and gearboxes (transmissions)
     
     
2. Service and maintenance warranty
   
   • 3 months on labor
3. Warranty on lifting equipment and parts
   • Manufacturer’s warranty, subject to manufacturer’s approval

Why do we offer these warranties?

Premium Industrial Group’s warranty on its own products is in line with the market, which ranges from 1 to 2 years. However, Premium mainly manufactures overhead crane structures. Components such as hoists, carts, motors and gearboxes come from our partner Stahl Cranes Systems or other supplies. Other mechanical and electrical parts also come from a variety of suppliers. This is why, in the case of parts not manufactured by Premium, we reflect the manufacturer’s warranty. This also means that the manufacturer must approve the warranty before we can apply it (see box “How to ensure that the manufacturer’s warranty will be applied”).

What are the exclusions related to our warranty?

The following exclusions apply to all of the warranty cases mentioned above:

1. Transportation, whether for the technician’s journey or parts delivery
2. Subsistence costs, where applicable, i.e. accommodation and meals.
3. Rental, if required, of equipment for diagnosis, repair or installation of a product under warranty.
4. Wear parts established by the manufacturer. Here are a few examples of wear parts: Hoisting cable, cable guide, hoisting chain, brake parts, electrical contactors, etc.

What are the conditions of our warranty?

The conditions attached to a warranty are important in assessing the quality of the offer. These conditions are listed below. This will allow you to compare with the conditions available on the market.

1. Effective date : the warranty takes effect on the date of delivery, or on the commissioning date for equipment sold and installed by Premium.
2. Storage and installation conditions : storage and installation conditions must comply with the manufacturer’s strict criteria.
3. Use : abnormal, non-standard or excessive use of the product may invalidate the warranty.
4. Problem reporting : Premium must be notified of any problems as soon as they are detected.
5. Manufacturer’s analysis : you agree that the product may be returned to the manufacturer for expert examination.
6. Collateral damage : the warranty does not cover collateral damage caused by a defect in a warranted part.
7. Modification of a product : any modification of a product invalidates the warranty, unless the modification has been approved by the manufacturer.
8. Duration after application : the replacement or repair of a defective product under warranty will not have the effect of renewing the duration of the warranty or extending the duration of the original warranty.
9. Product returns : No product returns will be accepted until authorized by Premium under warranty.

Does Premium Industrial Group offer extended warranties on its overhead crane products?

In the vast majority of cases, we do not offer extended warranties. However, in rare exceptional cases, Premium may decide to grant a warranty extension under certain conditions. If you believe your project falls into this category, we are open to discussion. Please speak to your technical representative. But each request will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
