Who is Machinex?

Machinex is a world leader in the manufacture and installation of material recovery systems. The company is renowned for its high-quality recycling equipment. Among these, the MACH Trommel is a key component of modern recycling plants. In 2019, Machinex inaugurated a new plant in Plessisville.

The Machinex challenge: save time and eliminate lifting equipment rental

Machinex's initial challenge was to speed up the loading of rotary screens and presses for delivery to the installation site, without being dependent on equipment rental.

These parts are heavy and imposing, and moving them requires great stability, especially when loading these components onto trailers. For example, MACH drums can reach a weight of 30,000 kg and a length of 15,3 m.

For this reason, it was necessary to hire cranes to carry out this operation. But as demand grew, what was Machinex going to do to increase throughput?

Chosen solution: high-performance tandem lifting

To meet the challenge, Machinex now uses two 20,000 kg overhead cranes, each equipped with 2 wire rope hoists with an individual capacity of 10,000 kg. The four hoists can be used individually or in tandem mode.

The wireless control system allows a single operator to control both overhead cranes, facilitating lifting operations and ensuring smooth travel, despite the oversized equipment.

This solution ensures perfect equipment synchronization and enhanced safety.
