Protect your workforce with a new temporary bumper
9 December 2020
Premium Industrial Group‘s commitment to safety is absolute. As required by legal standards, technicians must be protected against potential collisions resulting from overhead cranes travelling on the same track. This represents a risk for workers, hence the importance of temporary bumpers.
For this reason, we originally developed a first version of our own temporary bumper, which helped protect our valuable field technicians. But we also wanted to improve its features to further increase safety and expand its range of application, while reducing costs.
Its simple and efficient design now allows for impact from both sides, making it safer when more than one crane is operating on the same runway. In addition, it is compatible with a square rail, which allows it to be used in almost any situation.
Such efforts reflect Premium Industrial Group‘s desire to ensure safety during all kinds of maintenance. This tool can indeed be used by any business wishing to carry out maintenance on various equipment within an overhead crane’s range of movement (e.g. lights, ventilation, garage doors, etc.).

Standard on separating lifting devices for maintenance
:
- A reminder regarding regulations. According to section 4.3.4 of the CSA B167-16 standard, elevating devices during maintenance must be isolated from one another on the same track. The objective is to avoid the collision of an overhead crane with one being serviced by a technician.
